In conclusion, one-day insomnia workshops attracted a large number of self-referrals, and clinical improvement was reported for insomnia, distress and depression. These self-referral psychoeducational workshops did also offer an alternative means for individuals with severe scores to access psychological help in another part of the service. In the current climate, where NHS resources for psychological interventions are scarce and/or targets for throughput high, such community workshops offer an important, potentially cost-effective means of disseminating evidence-based psychological interventions to large numbers of people.
