The composition of the individual phenolic compounds of the
fennel seeds methanolic extract which was illustrated in Table 2
and Fig. 1 exhibited that rosmarenic acid, chlorogenic acids were
the major phenolic compounds (14.9% and 6.8%, respectively).
Mean while quercitin and apigenin were the most abundant
flavonoid in the fennel methanol extract (17.1% and 12.5%, respectively).
In spite of that the total phenolic compounds in fennel
methanol extract were higher than the flavonoid compounds.
