Man United may offload Schweinsteiger
Manchester United could be set to pay up Bastian Schweinsteiger's contract to the tune of £14 million in an effort to get the former Germany international off the wage bill at Old Trafford.
Schweinsteiger has been frozen out at United to the point that he has not been included in the team's squad photo for this season. The Manchester Evening News reports Jose Mourinho "is now working with United chiefs in a bid to release him from his deal nearly two years early" and they "are hoping to come to a deal which benefits both parties."
If a parting of the ways can be agreed it is claimed 32-year-old Schweinsteiger could make a move to Major League Soccer as a free agent.
