Mai has a strong customer focus and has been consistently delivering high quality of Facilities maintenance and service levels in the QBKK office as seen from the impressive 2014 REEB survey results. This year, apart from maintaining her good work in the local office, she is expanding her responsibilities to supervise the QVNM CTAs in carrying out Facilities-related responsibilities in the QHAN & QHCM offices. This includes training the CTAs in the Facilities trackers for OPEX spend & seat occupancy/utilization, as well as ensuring that all data provided is accurate and updated in a timely manner. She has also taken the initiative to streamline the existing process by using the Share-point instead of collecting the inputs monthly and then uploading it into ELVIS which creates unnecessary administrative work. I am pleased to note that she is collaborating extremely well with the QVNM CTAs in the execution of these Facilities tasks. She is also currently assisting in the implementation of hot-desking in QHAN which will broaden her Facilities related experience and abilities.
Mai is extremely meticulous in her administrative & operation work as listed out in her goals and is a shining example by virtue of her timely, accurate and well-maintained trackers & documentation. I can fully entrust such responsibilities to her with the full knowledge that she will proactively perform all the necessary work without supervision, reminders nor inaccuracies. Her level of professionalism and knowledge of Facilities operations have also contributed to the success of the initiatives such as the online stationery system implementation whereby she assisted the PMO team in the RFQ and roll-out, as well proactively amending the final cost savings tracker for QBKK when she spotted mistakes in the tracker which overinflated cost savings.
Part of Mai’s IDP this year is to continue developing her communication skills and English language abilities to better support the QVNM Facilities as well as open up more opportunities for her to manage Facilities in a larger, multicultural setting in the future. Although she is still hesitant about her English language abilities and is shy to speak up at times, she has actually been doing a great job thus far in both local communications, with myself & her regional colleagues as she is careful to prepare beforehand to ensure good delivery. Therefore, I would encourage her to have more confidence in herself because with such professional mentality, she will definitely succeed in compensating for any perceived lack of communication skills. With continued practice and perseverance, she will soon be able to manage Facilities confidently in both her local and English language.
