More realistic for an everyday person? ... I suppose, but Rogue (and the X-Men in general) are not supposed to really react like everyday people. They're superheroes and they have personalities and qualities which suit going on adventures and saving other people. It's not just their powers that drive them to help others.
I prefer the comics because they're the source material and it expands on the stories and develops the characters in them better than most mediums. We see Rogue grow, not only more heroic, but with more focus and with emotion.
As for Evolution and the Films portrayal of the character. I like Evolution, I think Rogue still had good personality in that one and she was very active on the team. The writers also really explored her storyline and her powers.
The Films, I greatly dislike. They didn't really explore her character and she didn't really resemble the source material beyond one magnified aspect (as a source of angst). Besides young Rogue was not a waif or flowerly teen, even in the comics before she got her powers, she still had fire and was very stubborn.
