COACH is a tool that can be successfully used, but only if correct information is entered. First, each department area has to clearly identify needed skills, required skill levels and evaluation criteria. This step is critical if the system is to be successful. Once this step is completed, each engineer’s strengths and weaknesses can be identified. However, as you can imagine, use of this system does not have to be limited to engineering only. Other departments and functions, such as Sales or Manufacturing could also use COACH. Already, in Philippines, at PET, the English version of this system is being used. This system was also introduced to AAPL, who are now in the process of identifying skills. Please seriously consider use of this system at your facility. Thank you very much.
