A meeting is held to discuss the student’s aspirations, strengths, and needs. As chair, the principal or designate will invite the participants and distribute an agenda. The parent(s)/ guardian(s) will be asked to contribute to the discussion by giving examples of the student’s strengths, needs, and aspirations. This will assist the parent(s)/guardian(s) in becoming meaningful
participants in the transition process. They are encouraged to discuss aspirations with the student before the meeting, if appropriate.
