Single particle-ICPMS (SP-ICPMS) is a high sensitivity
analytical method and can be used to characterize the size
distribution of metallic nanoparticle. It needs no other
combination instrument, thus saving the instrument cost. In
the next study, we will make further investigation by the
follow aspects: (1) Developing a new method to discriminate
signal of nanoparticles, instrument noise and dissolved metal.
(2) By using a higher sensitivity instrument of ICP-MS to
obtain lower detection limit of nanoparticle size. (3) By using
a hyphenated technique, such as FFF and HDC coupled with
ICP-MS, to separate the composition of metal-containing
nanoparticle, such as Ag and Ag2S particles. (4) Via
SP-ICPMS method to study the environmental behavior of
real sample of AgNPs.
