The objective of the study is for Tetra Pak to arrange a decisional
instrument quantifying emissions reduction and developing
concrete actions to reduce its impact on climate change. The study
has established the definition of the scope and the company’s
system limits. This required detailed knowledge of all of the
processes and relative input and output data concerning production
and marketing for Tetra Pak’s products in Italy.
All of the analyzed processes have been considered, aiming to
also include the activities that do not seem meaningful, but that can
become meaningful in time. The only exclusions were the impacts
that were impossible to monitor or control, such as those related to
capital goods (construction of the plant), secondary distribution
(from clients to sale points), and the consumer’s use of the product.

GHG Protocol standard [15] and ISO 14064-1 [16]. They are:
