Distance learning is different now.
Learning from home is not a new idea. It started with paper-based courses, and later, in the 1960s, people watched programmes on television to learn from home. Then in the 1990s, with the internet, everything changed again because anyone with a computer could go online and start distance learning..
Now modern distance learning systems like Massive Open Online Learning courses (MOOCs) are even better because they have new and useful functions. When you sign up for a course, you have an account to keep a record of your learning. As well as classes every week, there are announcements to tell you important news about your course. You can also find out when you need to send in your homework so you don’t miss any deadlines. At the end of each week, there is usually a quiz so you can check how much you learned.
