In trials carried out at the Tropical Pastures Research Center (CIPAT) in Mexico as well as
in trials in Costa Rica, the dry matter production of Cobra increases when cutting is
conducted at 30–45 days, surpassing that of forage sorghum, maralfalfa, and Mulato II.
Cobra’s advantage over other cut-and-carry forages is that it not only produces a greater
amount of forage with high protein content, but also presents high digestibility (69%) and
palatability. Animals therefore prefer this hybrid over other forages such as maralfalfa or
forage sorghum
