Wang et al. (2009) reported
that in South-East Australia, decreases in rainfall will reduce
growing season evapotranspiration and eventually reduce yields,
with implications for adaptation strategies. Some examples of adaptation
available to growers include practices that maintain SWC,
such as row spacing, reduced tillage, fallows, rotations and irrigation
(Stokes and Howden, 2010; Wheeler et al., 2013)
