Conclusions and policy implications
As urbanization intensifies in many parts of the United States, planners and policy makers will be forced to make important decisions about the arrangement and type of urban land uses in their communities. These decisions will determine the composition and arrangement of future landscapes. This, in turn, will influence the availability and condition of environmental amenities both locally and regionally.
