Dear All employees,
Our Scientific Solutions Business Division (SSBD) has enormously contributed to our business in Thailand by all SSBD members’ dedicated effort and kind support from our Corporate Div. members. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank you for all of your great effort & support.
Although our SSBD responsibilities are limited to RVI (Remote Visual Inspection; industrial endoscope) and shrinking OMI (Optical Measuring Instrument) business, they realized a double digit growth last year through new customer development by activated distribution network & their new marketing activities, as well as their key account management activities taking care of their existing VIP customers very closely. And as a result, they are further accelerating their business growth in this fiscal year as well.
On the other hand, as the global Scientific Solutions Business, “Vertical Market Strategy” is set as their major mid-term business growth policy. And strategic actions are required with the synergy of markets & customers for other products (IE/ NDT/ ANI/ BS) where Olympus Singapore (OSP) provides sales & services through their distributors in Thailand.
Specifically, it is required to increase our customer coverage by utilizing all the products customer data base and market-oriented seminar activities across all products categories. And these activities are believed to be effective to expand our market share furthermore though they are already quite high. Also, through these activities, drastic business expansion is targeted in future by acquiring new product categories to reinforce our “one-stop-solution” for customers in target market.
In order to realize this global strategy, it is necessary to promote all our sales & marketing activities from centralized business resources & organization. So, regret to inform you, but we decided to transfer our SSBD business to Olympus Singapore effective from October 1, 2016. OMI business will be conducted directly from OSP for south-east Asian countries including Thailand, and RVI business will be implemented by OSP through five existing distributors in Thailand, with whom OTH do business currently.
Moreover, none of SSBD members will resign from us due to this business transfer. And I expect everyone will continuously contribute our business in their respective fields of OLYMPUS.
Lastly, it is a quite tight schedule for this business transition with approx. 2.5 month, but I would like all of you to cooperate with SSBD and realize this business transition on time.
