Since census data for number of inhabitants of
each age were not available for the Republic of Srpska
at the moment, the incidence rates for 10-year
age group, and the incidence rates adjusted to the
world population were calculated for patients from
Serbia and Montenegro (data not shown). Incidence
rates increased from the youngest age group (0.46 per
100,000 in 20–29 years old) toward the oldest (1.21
per 100,000 in 70–79 years old), with a drop in incidence
after age of 80 (0.29 per 100,000). Age-adjusted
incidence rates were 0.86 per 100,000 (1.14 for males
and 0.58 for females).
