I recommend that you avoid writing out your talk and then
reading or reciting it. Although speakers in nonscientific fields
often read prepared papers, it is considered bad form in scientific
and technical circles, where a more extemporaneous presentation
is preferred. If you’re using transparencies, they can probably
serve as your notes; otherwise just jot down the outline, key
ideas and transitions on note cards or a tablet.
