Likewise, from
Figs. 1(b and c), it can be inferred that the prevailing ergonomic
legislation and practice impacts the trend. British Columbia
[Fig. 1(b)], which has a proactive and legislated ergonomics practice,
shows a consistent decrease in LTC while Ontario [Fig. 1(c)]
shows an increase when compared as percentage of all claims.
Alberta, with its reactive legislation, shows a decrease of LTC from
overexertion [Fig. 2(a)], but a fairly constant range of LTC for
exertion and bodily reaction LTC [Fig. 2(b)].
