Apart from process simulation, heat integration was also
performed in this study to construct an efficient energy
network. Important data such as starting/target temperatures
and heat loads of process streams which were involved in
heat transfer were extracted from Aspen Plus and optimized
in General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). The objective
function was set for minimizing utility cost and capital cost
using transshipment LP model and simultaneous optimization
model, respectively [24,25]. Once obtained from GAMS,
the results were validated using Aspen Energy Analyzer.
These results were then added back to the simulation environment
and tested rigorously to check whether the proposed
