Wearable, disposable vital sign sensors are starting to emerge providing low-cost, continuous monitoring of vital signs for patients, regardless of location or health status. It is estimated that by 2018, 5 million of such type of sensors will be sold. For example, the LifeShirtSystem5is an example of amulti-sensor continuous monitoring system for collecting, analyzing and reporting a patient’s health data. It captures the ongoing patient’s data rather than data snapshots which is usually collected during the patient’s periodic visits to the doctor’s office.
