2.2.4. Chromium carbide
Chromium carbides are known to be easily dissolved and therefore
they are rather seldom used in laser claddings. This fact can
also be seen in Fig. 7 as there are very few original carbides left
in the matrix. On the other hand, there is a high amount of reformed
carbides in the matrix. The microstructure is very similar
to those encountered in chromium-iron welding consumables
