If you’ve been living under a rock the past few weeks, the city of Flint in Michigan is undergoing a massive water crisis. The city’s water has been inadequately treated at least since 2014, with lead and other toxins seeping into the water supply from old pipes. For a long time the dire situation in Flint has been ignored by local and federal governments alike, as well as the rest of the nation; only recently has the crisis come into the spotlight after images of the toxic, brown tap water emerged. The sudden increase in media attention has luckily sparked some people to spring into action in order to provide the city with the aid that the government was neglecting to give.
