In general, volumes of DMS over 90 ul gave satisfactory derivatisation yields for the nine HAA methyl ester; at lower volumes, all compounds were not derivatised, but above 110 ul the excess of DMS was extracted in n-pentane and volatilised appearing in the chromatogram
