When Triton X-114 concentration of 7% (w/v) for emulsion preparation and a temperature of 80 C for its breaking were used, the oil samples separated from the aqueous phases in between 29 and 84 min of heating, depending on the type of edible oil samples.
For investigating the effect of the ionic strength of the efficiency of EIEB procedure, various experiments were done by adding different amount of NaCl, BaCl2 and KCl to the Triton X-100 and Triton
X-114 solutions.
It was found that the addition of NaCl, BaCl2 and KCl had no effect on the extraction efficiency.
