A fter about amonth of walking and trekking across mountains, deserts and icy rivers, Nathen found himself alone. The other members of the group couldn't continue because they were ill or injured. Nathen wanted to continue but he didn't have any food or water. He needed to find avillage, but the tiny villages weren't on any of his maps. Luckily,he saw a small village down in a valley. When he reached the village, he pulled out his water bottle and a young boy ran inside his hut and come back with the same water.
The people in the village were very poor, but the boy's parents invited Nathen to stay and est some food with them. First, the family gave him a jar of tea leaves, some apples, biscuits and bread. Then they offered him some hot noodles, some fried crickets, and some pigs' ears! He was so hungry that he ate the food very fast. It tasted great.
