Ok youve met the mimic, now meet the real thing - the deadly Painted Coral-Snake! Well hes deadly if you are stupid enough to let yourself get bitten by him, but the Coral is an Elapid snake. His fangs are set well back in his relatively small mouth so in order to get yourself a deadly dosage you would have really want to get bitten and shove your hands down his throat! Even so, dont mess around with him, admire his beautiful colouration from a distance! Bear in mind that the North American rhyme "Red to black venom lack, red to yellow kill a fellow" works for this species but not for other Corals that occur in Paraguay!!!
