9. Conclusions
The methodology evolved in the present study for optimizing the diameter of the pipeline is found to be
applicable over wide range of data for aluminium ore slurry. The optimal size of the pipeline has been
calculated from the least cost principle for throughput ranging from 50kg/sec to 250kg/sec for particles of
size 2mm. The flow parameters corresponding to the optimal size of the pipeline are in the normal range
of operations.
