This assay is based on the measurement of the scavenging ability of antioxidants towards the stable radical DPPH• (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) [18]. A 3.9 mL aliquot of a 0.0634 mM of DPPH• solution, in methanol was added to 0.1 mL of the methanolic extraction of mango flesh. The mixture was shaken in a vortex and kept 30 min in the dark. Absorbance was then read it in an UV- Vis spectrophotometer (Cary, model 50 Bio, Varian, It- aly), at a wavelength of 515 nm. Results were expressed in DPPH• inhibition %. Analyses were performed in triplicate.
