Let the fashion planning begin! More than six months before the highly anticipated 2016 Met Gala, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the theme for next year's Costume Institute exhibition. Drumroll please... E! News can confirm the central theme will be"Manux xMachina: Fashion in an age of Technology." The focus will be centered on the contrast between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion. "Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and pret-a-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made," curator of the costume Institute Andrew Bolton said in a statement. "But recently this distinction has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other." Fashion lovers can also mark their calendars for the 2016 Met Gala that will officially take place Monday, May 2, 2016.
