Ametek PK II Pneumatic Deadweight Tester
5. The model number for the Ametek PK II Pneumatic Deadweight Tester in our lab is PK II-254WC-SS. Given this information, determine the range, minimum increment, and the number of each weight provided by Ametek.
6. How often does Ametek recommend that the deadweight tester be tested and (re) certified?
7. Table 1 of the results section of this lab has a column labeled “Ametek Uncorrected Pressure Value, H2O(T room)”. The values of pressure in this column have not been corrected for gravity, temperature and air head. Correction factor equations can be found on page 3 and 4 of the Ametek handbook.
Assuming that there is no air head, calculate the corrected tester output pressure for each generated pressure, and record in table 1, “Ametek Corrected Pressure Value, H2O(T room) ”. Note, the gravity constant for Bangkok Thailand is 9.7835 m/s2. Assume that the room temperature is 25ºC. Show one example calculation.
8. The corrected tester output pressures calculated in pre-lab Q#7 are referenced to water at 20C room temperature, but pressure reference to water at 4C is required. Convert all of the corrected tester output pressures to pressure in units of inches of water at 4C, and record in table 1, “Ametek Corrected Pressure Value, H2O4 ”. The density of water at 4C is 999.97 kg/m3, and the density of water at 2025C is 998.20 kg/m3. Show one example calculation.
