Percentage losses or gains for lycopene and beta-carotene content of aril (aril oil) dried by different methods compared to aril fresh and extracted by chloroform:methanol (2:1) are shown in Fig. 3. Interestingly, there were increases in lycopene following HA, LRH and FIR of aril oil (166%, 115% and 80%), and beta-carotene content increased (66%, 66% and 77%).
