The quantitative analysis of imidacloprid in soil and
water extracts was conducted by reverse phase HPLC
technique. A Shimadzu LC-2010 AHT equipped with UV
detector, Phenomenex C-18 column (250 mm length 9
4.6 mm i.d. and 0.5 lm particle size) and LC-solution
software was used.
Mobile phase A: 0.01% (v/v) acetic acid in water (60).
Add 0.1 mL acetic acid and dilute to 1 L with water.
Mobile phase B: acetonitrile (40). The mobile phase was
delivered to mode of low pressure gradient at 1 mL flow
rate and detector set a 252 nm kmax was used for analysis.
Imidacloprid standard showed sharp peak at 4.93 min
under the described HPLC conditions. Figure 1a–c depicts
a typical chromatogram of the separation of imidacloprid
reference standard and recovery in soil and water samples.
