New employees came to Fox Relocation almost exclusively through word-of-mouth. Even in the low unemployment job market of the late 1990's, the company had never needed to place a help wanted advertisement. The company received several unsolicited resumes almost every week. Fox and Coletti conductod interviews on an on-going basis. Most of the resumes came from people with art, architecture, interior design, space planning, or facility management backgrounds. Many had experience as project managers for larger companies. Some Fox Relocation employees had previously been downsized as their corporations out-sourced their facility management divisions. Fox felt that despite the word of mouth method of hiring, she was as or more diverse in her hiring practices than most companies in her industry.
