Worst night traveling was in Paris after having had my pocket picked on the metro. I lost 3 credit cards, an ATM card some cash and my driver's license. My worries were that I was short of cash and no credit card. However, a credit card company who shall be nameless proved to me why I should not leave home without it as the next day at noon I picked up a new one. I didn't really learn anything new, just what I already knew - don't carry those things in a wallet. Almost always, with the exception of that day, I keep all that in a money belt next to my underwear. It had no effect on my love of travel or my love of Paris. I didn't love myself too much that day as I was disgusted that I did something so stupid.
My wife has broken a finger in Switzerland and a toe in Portugal but neither of those things slowed us down. We took a couple of hours for the finger to be set and put in a cast but she just put on shoes that were more snug on the broken toe. She is a trouper!
