Most of Indian philosophy is anti-empirical and concerned with an ultimate reality. Hinduism doesn’t have one single founder and one truth but is a complex amalgam of many approaches. Suffering, salvation and the ultimate reality are cornerstones of most Indian philosophizing. Hinduism is characterized by the polytheism and pantheism – many gods, many voices. The Upanishads teach that “A universal spirit is present within all living things—Brahman. This is thought to be the mighty spirit that creates and destroys life. The Brahman is one but expresses itself as Many, Everything in nature is tied together by Brahman and because all living things are considered a part of Brahman, Hindus forbade the killing of animals
