BOE Heading to Lower Bound on Bank Rate, Says TD -- Market Talk
9 September 2016, 11:23
1123 GMT The Bank of England is set to reach its lower bound on interest rates by November, says TD Securities. Strategist James Rossiter expects the BOE to cut bank rate to 0.05% in two months' time, likely reaching a bottom. If the economy deteriorates significantly in the following months, the central bank could launch an additional GBP60 billion QE package by February, he adds. But the interest rate shouldn't drop to zero or even negative territory. (tasos.vossos@wsj.com, @tasosvos)
