The VOLUNTEER may come across a child protection issue by any one of the 4 methods listed in Section 2.3. In any of the methods listed it is important to note that any suspicion of child abuse is grounds for an investigation. If the VOLUNTEER or any other individual has cause for concern it is essential that the issue is addressed immediately and any allegation either acted upon or dismissed through a professional investigation.
It is NOT the responsibility of the VOLUNTEER to assess the accuracy of an allegation, but it is their responsibility to pass on any information that may affect the physical and emotional welfare of a child. This section will detail what methods of communication that are open to the VOLUNTEER in the event that they would like to report any suspicions or concerns, or to report a DISCLOSURE.
