The adsorption rate of As(V) with an initial concentration of 5 ppm on the sample B is shown in Fig. 3(a). It is clear from the figure that the adsorption occurs rapidly during the early stage of adsorption about 0–10 min, and approximately 95% of As(V) could be removed in 30 min. The correlation coefficient of the pseudo-second-order rate model for the linear plots was very close to 1, and the calculated qe value was nearly equal to the experimentally obtained value, which suggesting the As adsorption process meets the pseudo-second-order kinetics.
