Hu et al. found that the amount of toxins changed according to the developmental stage of the mushroom (Hu et al., 2012).
It is known that the amount of toxin is lower in young A. phalloides and higher in those well developed.
The main parameter in deadly mushroom poisoning cases is the toxin concentrations taken into the body when eating fresh mushrooms (Vetter, 1998).
The toxin content of fresh mushrooms and ripe mushrooms were calculated and published in this study. The lack of an analysis of young mushrooms that are not fully ripened is a limitation of this study.
