You know what's funny? Sitting back with some popcorn, watching all the Arab guys hitting on the poor, unsuspecting girls... "hey h r u" - one of my favourite phrases. Do they honestly think they'll elicit a positive response by sounding like a complete idiot? I suppose if it does, they deserve each other. Though it's even funnier watching blokes hit on scam profiles, women who describe themselves as "am is a nice lady"... The little things.
Since I'm Australian, I love to travel. The only problem is not being able to speak with the locals! So that's why I'm here, to attempt to learn at least a few phrases in each language, and to hold my own when it comes to a few.
I live and study in a small town in Southern New South Wales called Wagga Wagga (but everyone just calls it Wagga). I only very recently moved here from Melbourne, but I'm enjoying it so far. My character has always leaned towards a one-pub town style of living, rather than big city skyscrapers.
Requests
Don't send me messages with one or two words. Seriously. Be inventive. Tantalise me. Also, if you are a fan of bad grammar, poor spelling, and awful, awful habits such as using "u" for "you", please pass me by.
Right from the outset I'm going to say I lead a pretty hectic lifestyle, and I don't live on my computer. You might get four messages from me in an hour, then not hear from me in a week or two. That's just how it is. My busyness comes in peaks and troughs.
I'm pleased to help anyone with English. I'm not an English teacher, I don't know how to improve your grammar, all I can do is converse. If that works for you, we're in luck!
And finally to those of you who do speak English, I'd love to get to know people from all around the world, so don't be shy! =) Especially those from the USA and Canada. I've been to Europe a number of times, but never made it to North America. I would love to hear your tips!

I'd love to learn more Russian. My dream is to make it to Russia some day, and when I get there, I want to at least be able to order myself a vodka. If it only weren't for those pesky visa problems...
A recent trip to Budapest has aroused my curiosity in Hungarian/Magyarul. Before I left, I was warned that Hungary was dim and bleak, with rude inhabitants. Upon my arrival, I found the people in Hungary to be extremely friendly, and Budapest one of the most beautiful cities I've visited.
Dreaming about all this money I (don't) have to travel around the world, I'd also love to visit Serbia, where I have family. I think it's so rude to get into a taxi outside the airport and expect people to speak English. So, to be able to say at least a few words in Serbian would be lovely.
I also need to practice my German more. I studied it for years, but without constant use, my fluency dies off. Which is a real shame. Ich liebe Deutsch!
