The garden of Thaksin Rajanives features a rock garden with foliage plants because most areas are under shade, so there is not enough sunlight for flowering plants. The most common plants seen in the palace grounds include palm trees, and 'Dda La' Around the gardens are deer stables and aviaries of rare birds. HM the King also started a project to breed the oriole, the small yellow native bird, and releasing them into the wild.
As well as the palace itself, there is 1875 rai of forest surrounding the area of Thaksin Rajanives Palace. There is also an abbey in the palace area to accommodate religious leaders who join HM the King on his visits.
