This was a quasi-experimental study on two groups with beforeafter
design. Based on Pocock's formula, a power of .90 at a 5%
significant level (two-sided), the sample size calculation showed
that 21 participants were required per group. The study was conducted
in 2012 and 36 women with MS who were members of the
Iranian Multiple Sclerosis Society participated in the study. They
were selected through purposive sampling and then randomly
assigned to either the intervention (18 women) or control group (18
women). Because of their time constraints, two patients didn't
follow the study and thus were excluded.
