Baseline Phase During mathematics activities,, baseline data of beta of beta wave was
collected by EEG biofeedback evaluations. At the same time, children ’ s attentive behaviors were
also observed and rated by two observers. Each baseline session was 30 –minute duration and 5
sessions were required for each child. The child’s attentive behavior was operationally defined as
engagement in the task-at-hand (the mathematics tasks) with enhanced beta wave and reduced theta
wave activity (marked by silence from the EEG instrument).
