The greywater consisted of input from shower, laundry and
teeth-brushing. Teeth-brushing greywater was generated in
the laboratory; the first 2.5 min of a 5 min shower and the first
discharge of the washing machine were collected from the
researcher’s home and were subsequently diluted with tap
water in the laboratory. The greywater was prepared from
these water samples by mixing proportions on the basis of one
load of laundry is washed per day in an apartment occupied by
three people, and each occupant brushes his/her teeth twice
and has two showers per day. The characteristics of the
greywater are shown in Table 1.
