The objective of this quixi experimental research was to study the effects of participatory learning on
development of clinical nursing practice guideline to prevent postpartum hemorrhage in maternal and child health
care network. Pretest-posttest group design was applied in the study. The sample group consisted of 30 nurses,
who work in maternal and child health care network and attended the workshop at the department of delivery room
of Sisaket Hospital during June to August, 2013. The workshop was participatory learning which consisted of the
computer presentation, the demonstration of delivery, the group discussion based on case studies, and the clinical
nursing practice guideline to prevent postpartum hemorrhage was provided in the workshop. The instruments for
collecting data consisted of a test about knowledge of a postpartum (the reliability of the test was 0.70 testing
by Kuder Richardson formula) and a questionnaire about clinical nursing practice for preventing postpartum
hemorrhage (the reliability was 0.91 using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient). The data were analyzed by using
descriptive statistical methods and the mean of samples were analyzed by t-test.
