Especially in developing countries, researchers have studied local people's perceptions regarding conservation with the assumption that sustainability, more responsibility, and long-term management of forest resources depend
on local residents' support (Triguero-Mas et al., 2010). For successful mangrove conservation, the issue of the allocation of property rights to mangrove-dependent communities (MDCs) is considered vital to allow them to participate in decisions as a part of a shared responsibility for the present and future state of the resources.
