As you may know, in the United States we celebrate a holiday called Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday in November (this week). The first Thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the new world in 1621. The feast lasted for three days and was attended by 90 Native American Indians and 53 Pilgrims. It is truly a great holiday where we celebrate the success of our harvest through feasting with our family and friends. In addition to this, it is a time to reflect on accomplishments and be thankful for all the things that contributed to the success of the year. Tonight, John Deere will be announcing our 2014 financial results for the company. The contributions of our John Deere Asia’s team were many this year and I am truly thankful for each of your strong contributions in 2014.
Despite the fact that we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving outside of the U.S. (I am now dreaming of my Mom’s turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie) I wanted to pass along my thanks to each of you for your focus and efforts in 2014. As a sign of appreciation I would like to extend a casual day on Thursday to celebrate our accomplishments in 2014. Although this is not a feast, I hope the RC team comes up with one soon, I am hopeful that this will make this Thursday a little more enjoyable and allow you to reflect on all of our 2014 accomplishments.
Happy Thanksgiving,
I am looking forward to a strong 2015 from a highly aligned branch team!
Mike
