This has been a very short history of an incredibly deep genre. Undoubtedly my favourite type of music to have emerged out of Jamaica, there is a lot to be said about reggae music. After covering the history of dub and dancehall over the next two weeks I will take the chance to cover some more features of roots reggae, however for now I hope this has been an interesting enough introduction to the history of reggae music. Some albums to check out for anyone interested would be The Congos ‘Heart of the Congos’, Abyssinians ‘Satta Massagana’, Culture ‘Two Sevens Clash’ and the compilation of Lee Perry productions ‘Arkology’
