KMS is increasingly regarded as an important factor in contributing to a firm’s pursuit of competitive advantage through innovation (Foss, 1999).
A firm can also achieve superior performance on the basis of its ability to generate new knowledge and utilize the existing base more effectively and efficiently than its competitors.
