The following characteristics describe the actions of the 21st century educational
leader:
Cultivates “grassroot” efforts to integrate technology into instruction (i.e.
teacher exploration of new tools)
Encourages students to take leadership roles in working with technology
Helps teachers become comfortable with technology (i.e. professional
development)
Regularly visits classrooms to observe real changes in the pedagogy where
technology is used (Henke, 2007)
