Kitchen Hand/Domestic
Purpose and scope.
1. To provide a HIGH standard of quality care to Hostel residents, by providing nutritionally well balanced meals on a daily basis.
2. To ensure that each resident maintains their dignity and privacy and are treated with respect.
3. Communicate to residents in a manner that allows residents to understand and make decisions that effect their lifestyle . Allow them to continue to control their life.
Responsible to:
The Care Manager. Employed under the Aged and Home Care, NSWNA and HSU Multi - enterprise Agreement 2014-2017.
Qualifications/ Experience.
1. Capable of a high standard of cleaning technique.
2. An ability to be self-motivated and a team member.
Major duties and responsibilities:
1. Liaise with the cook.
2. To plan with the cook and residents, taking into consideration resident's requests, a rotating menu with seasonal changes.
3. To assist the Cook prepate three meals a day,morning and afernoon cakes, Birthday and Special Occasion cakes.
4. To assist with preparation of specific dietary needs of any residents.
5. To serve meals in an attractive manner, being aware of the resident'd likes and dislikes.
6. To attend Resident's meetings at request to review meals.
7. To continually strive for improvement.
8. To keep kitchen tidy and clean throughout the day as much as possible.
9. Clean up spills immediately.
10. To order and check supplies when delivered and store as required.
